(No matter how you feel about what happened that day, these people were indeed victims.) He set out to get 2,996 bloggers to cover all of the victims, and he exceeded his goal. I am honored to be a part of his project.Today, I honor Daniel Michael Coffey.coffeyMr. Coffey was a Senior Vice President of Guy Carpenter, and worked in Tower One of the World Trade Center, on the 94th Floor. He lived in Newburgh, New York. He was 54.He was married for thirty years to his wife, Francis, and together, they had three sons, Daniel, Jason, and Kevin. On 11 September 2001, Daniel and his son, Jason, were going to meet for lunch at the WTC, as they both worked there. Jason perished in the attacks as well.I didn't know Daniel, but here is what some who did know him have said:"May I express my saddness at the loss of Dan to us all. I will never forget that as a freshman at college,Dan was my 'big brother' and helped me get through a lot of tough times with good humor , common sense and always looking at the 'big picture' he put a lot of confusion into focus for when I really needed it. May God Bless his soul." - Micharl J.Camardi M.D.Marist-1970"Dear Mrs. Coffey, I knew your husband for many years. I have worked at Guy Carpenter for almost 22 years. Everyone agreed that Dan was a fine gentleman and always kind and helpful. I cannot begin tocomprehend what you have been going through. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts andprayers now and always. Love, Barbara""I knew Dan from the MetroNorth train. Whenever we spoke he always spoke about his sons. He was a very special person and I am thankful I had the opportunity to have known him. God has special plans for this special person!!" - Sandi Lantz (Montgomery, NY )"Dear Mrs. Coffey: I just found this web-site and wanted to convey my condolences to you and your family. I worked with Dan at American Overseas. I was Bob Breeding's secretary. I always respected Dan and thought he was a great family man. When everyone else would go out for drinks after work, Dan would always say, I have to get home to my Fran. You're in my prayers. Rosemary" - Rosemary Schwille (Queens, NY )"I never had the opportunity to meet Mr. Coffey, but from the few times I got him on the phone when calling for his son Kevin I knew what a generous, humorous, kind man he was. And those qualities always seemed to be shared by the rest of his family. There is definitely a Coffey charisma. I have faith in the endurance of that spirit. I pray for the resilience and comfort of the Coffey family." - Erica Taylor (Philadelphia, PA )"Hello Mrs. Coffey & Family. I no longer work for guy Carpenter. During the time of my employ at GC, I knew Your husabnd (Dan)as I called him, very well. I waorked in the same dept for about 5 1/2 years. He thought all I know about computers. During our lifes we meet many people; however, some of the people that we meet, do last a life time. For some people 5 1/2 years maybe a short time but it id not the time but the quality of time.I'm honored to hame met your husband. He was a co-worker, and a frind. He surely shall be missed. As Billy Joel song goes, the good die young. Dan was just that person. I hope and wish that God gives your family the strenght to go forward, and too bless us and our country. Sincerely John Incardona." - John Incardona (Brooklyn, NY )You can see Daniel's quilt square here. The Coffey Family is in my heart today.I searched out and then heard from Darren James Capicotto, a Coffey family friend today.
