He was an assistant trader with Cantor Fitzgerald, which lost most of their family the day of the 9/11 attacks. Dennis was a resident of Colts Neck, NJ, and was from Lancaster, PA. He graduated from Villanova with a Liberal Arts degree. He was an avid golfer and loved all the Philadelphia professional sports teams. While reading about Dennis, I found a bright spot. His and his wife's 6th wedding anniversary would have been celebrated on 28 October. His wife received a gift from her father: a key ring, found by a New York City police officer. On the key ring was Dennis' wedding band. He often put it there while he played golf. What a wonderful gift. Here are some quotes from his Legacy guest book: I am Denny's mother and I have just read the beautiful messages posted on this website, which my son Patrick told me about. Your kind and thoughtful remembrances of Denny made me feel good. His loss in our lives is devastating, and nothing will ever change that, but your tributes and prayers help to make this painful time bearable. Thank you. - Judith Cook (Lancaster, PA ) My heart broke for you at the moment I heard about Denny. I'm so sorry that I didn't try to contact you earlier, and I should have tried to stay in touch with both of you after school. I wish that I didn't need to be writing this to you. But if it weren't for you, I would not have been given an opportunity to know Denny. Thank you for that. I remember the older Cook boys as being two of the most devoted and most generous individuals -- to each other and your many friends. Denny and I grew to be good friends for the couple of years we had left after you had graduated. I could always count on him for anything, especially his great big bear hugs just when I needed it most, or to play just the right Guns & Roses tune to snap me out of a funk. Many of my happiest college memories involve you and your little brother; he was always shadowing you with that mischievous little twinkle in those baby blues. His contagious laugh and side-stitching sense of humor keeps me smiling to this day. But, Dave, I’m convinced that it was from you where he must have learned to always be a gentleman around the ladies. I can’t possibly imagine what you are going through, so please just know that I think of you and Denny nearly every day, and I pray that his loss hasn't diminished your kind and loving spirit. You’ll always be in my heart, my thoughts, and my prayers.Love,Kristen - Kristen (Rothe) O'Donnell (Mill Valley, CA ) Dennis was taken from his wife, Dana, two daughters, Sophia, 3, and Lindsay, 6 months. He also is survived by his mother, Judith, and brother, David, both of Lancaster, Pa., and another brother, Patrick, of West Chester, Pa posted by Kami at 11.9.06
