Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar and Liberals are just Idiots

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. [Sigmund Freud - unsubstantiated attribution]
Then I get this email telling me that when I apply the epithet "idiots" to those with whom I disagree, I am guilty of using the logical phallacy, oops, Freudian slip, I mean using the logical fallacy of "Ad Hominem". Instead of attacking the arguments and premises of my opponent, I attack on the basis of some irrelevant fact, like his intelligence.
So I ask my dear readers, what do you make of this? [with a tip of the turban to GOP and College]
For the life of me, I tried to think of the correct appellative to apply to this leftwing nutjob and after hours of excruciating and rigorous exercise of my little grey cells I could not come up with anything more accurate, more descriptive, more truthful than Liberal Idiot. And although, in the main, it is a shabby argument to use, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar and a liberal is just an idiot.
Anyone else out there want to give it a try?

- Well, the difference is you tack on "idiot" to well thought out, factual posts/speech. Libs just add invective, without any sort of thought or facts.
- lol..sorry their asinine postures almost beg for insult..but hey..I won't stoop to that level..and frankly its not worth my precious energy...great post as usual buddy!..:)
- Actually I would say that "If Hezbollah hides among civilians then... WE ARE TOAST!. I've been thinking about all the criticism of so-called use of "disproportionate force". Couching the response to an attack is nothing more than appeasement and serves to extend the conflict. The only legitimate response is to make the consequences so severe that the people will revolt and "throw the bums out" I know that this is simplistic but the Lebanese have to see that the problem is not Isreal but Hezbollah and only they can make it stop. Otherwise Isreal will do what it has to. Great site, Bernie. I make it a point to visit every day.
- To what your ilk call a liberal idiot is not to why I'm responding. This is my first time on this site and notice your opinion has a paltry 2 comments. So,I wouldn't call your opinion valid or worse, one that merits ANY response.. :b
- I noticed myself that I get very few comments compared to sites that have even 1/10th my traffic. I average over 2300 visitors a day to my site and on a good post I'll generate more than 3500 reads in a day. If you look at the bottom of this post you will see that I am consistently in the top 5 for blogtopsites in the political category. In the clustermaps you will also notice that I get 75% of my readers from overseas. If you notice I have buttons leading into my posts that allow translations into almost a dozen languages. Lack of fluency in English may inhibit the majority of my readers. I do get more than a few dozen emails a day from my readers. I have looked at other sites where the traffic is very small and yet the amount of posted comments is quite numerous. Many of the comments are from readers garnered over the past few years. I only started blogging early this year. But I expect the number of commenters to increase in the next few years. I made my site meter stats public so you will see that I got more visitors in the past hour than many sites get all day and yet they have more people commenting. I know that if I posted on some personal illness or on my granddaughter's first day in school I would get many more comments. Also, if I made statements that were easy to refute or wrote inanities that were subject to ridicule, I would get more comments. In addition I believe I am intimidating to most people who would like to leave opposing comments. Usually what starts off a chain or flurry of comments is for someone to leave an opposing point of view. Despite my posts being rather provocative, I get very few willing to post those opposing views. The real problem of course, is that since I am always right and my arguments so cogent and blistering, that those who favor my view merely nod to themselves in agreement and those opposed to my view, are so stricken with the truth of my arguments, that there is very little to say in opposition. Take the photo in this post for example. Try this yourself on blogs that you think are somehow "valid" because they have many comments. Post this photo and ask if any liberal can explain away the actions of this moron. See how any commenters are willing to stick their neck out and say that the protestor here has a justification for carrying that sign. Come back to me and let me know if you get a lot of comments.
