Useful Idiots and the Elections of 2006
By Bernie on 08 Nov 2006
With the Democratic wins yesterday, the term "Useful Idiots" comes to mind. For some background on the expression read Thomas Sowell's Useful Idiots, Excerpt: LENIN is supposed to have referred to blind defenders and apologists for the Soviet Union in the Western democracies as "useful idiots." Yet even Lenin might have been surprised at how far these useful idiots would carry their partisanship in later years -- including our own times.
Stalin's man-made famine in the Soviet Union during the 1930s killed more millions of people than Hitler killed in the Holocaust -- and Mao's man-made famine in China killed more millions than died in the USSR. [snip] ... very little was said about them in the Western democracies while they were going on. Indeed, many useful idiots denied that there were famines in the Soviet Union or in Communist China.
The most famous of these was the New York Times' Moscow correspondent, Walter Duranty, who won a Pulitzer prize for telling people what they wanted to hear, rather than what was actually happening. Duranty assured his readers that "there is no famine or actual starvation, nor is there likely to be." Moreover, he blamed reports to the contrary on "rumor factories" with anti-Soviet bias.
It was decades later before the first serious scholarly study of that famine was written, by Robert Conquest of the Hoover Institution, always identified in politically correct circles as "right-wing." Yet when the Soviets' own statistics on the deaths during the famine were finally released, under Mikhail Gorbachev, they showed that the actual deaths exceeded even the millions estimated by Dr. Conquest.
Likewise today those of us who see the threat of Islam clearly are labeled Islamophobes [which term I willingly apply to myself] and called anti-Islamic.
The New York Times as well, reprises its role as Useful Idiot in its stance on the War on Terror by leaking military secrets, distorting stories to favor the Lebanese point of view, ignoring the Mohammed Cartoon Affair in its entirety, fabricating articles to further its leftist agenda and generally failing to report good news from Iraq.
I want you to look at the photo here and the one at the top of this post. Notice anything unusual? See Ned Lamont's supporters? Do you notice they seem to be anti-Israel? Now look at who supports Ms Clinton. See the self-loathing Jew? Sad to say, but I am ashamed of these so-called Jews. These are exactly the same shmoos who skipped willingly into the Nazi "showers". No sense of evil, no clear view of those who want to destroy them. I am ashamed to say that 98% of my relatives were sappily "disinfected" by Zyklon B. My father was so disenchanted by the naivete of his Hasidic relatives and the horror of the holocaust that he cut off his sidelocks [peyot: in violation of the Torah Commandment, see Vayikra 19:27] and abandoned the religion of his ancestors never to attend temple or to discuss religion ever again with anyone.
Despite the experience of Nazi Germany, there are still to this day many Jewish "useful idiots" who blind themselves to the threat of Islam from some misguided notion of Jewish tolerance or benighted sense of moral superiority. "We have been the object of bigotry for thousands of years and so it would be wrong of us to treat others likewise." Under this rule I suppose one can make the case that anti-Nazism is also a form of bigotry. "We should try to understand the reasons why the Muslim world wants to destroy us and to appease them." What blatant nonsense.
The population of world Jewry is only now returning to the numbers there were in 1939. It took over 60 years from the end of WWII to replenish the Jewish population to pre-war levels! And now, when world Islam promises to wipe Israel off the map, Jewish useful idiots ask Israel not to shoot at enemy combatants because they are wearing jilbabs, hijabs or burqas. When I visited Dachau in Germany in 1968 I saw a sign that said "Never Again." But now I see that with useful idiots it can always happen again.

- There are none so blind as those who will not (wilfully refuse to) see.
- ". When I visited Dachau in Germany in 1968 I saw a sign that said "Never Again." " Never Again has morphed into Neville Again.
- Neville Again - I like that. But I'm afraid the reference is lost to most young people. There's a young person I know that reads my blog and I have to explain at least two or three words or concepts to him from every blog. I am actually thinking of adding a translator into 5th grade English for my posts.
