Take Back the Nobel Peace Prize from Al Gore from Planck's Constant

Last October, the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced that they were going to award the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize to Al Gore and the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. This was the third time (at least) that the committee made an idiotic choice, the previous two egregious blunders were awards to the terrorist Yasser Arafat (1994) and Saudi stooge Jimmy Carter (2002).

A few months later the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee issued this report:

The new report issued by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee's office of the GOP Ranking Member details the views of the scientists, the overwhelming majority of whom spoke out in 2007.

Even some in the establishment media now appear to be taking notice of the growing number of skeptical scientists. In October, the Washington Post Staff Writer Juliet Eilperin conceded the obvious, writing that climate skeptics "appear to be expanding rather than shrinking." Many scientists from around the world have dubbed 2007 as the year man-made global warming fears "bite the dust." (LINK) In addition, many scientists who are also progressive environmentalists believe climate fear promotion has "co-opted" the green movement. (LINK)

And now we discover that the Earth is not heating up at all, rather it is cooling:

All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA's GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously. The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C -- a value large enough to erase nearly all the global warming recorded over the past 100 years. All in one year time. The Liberal idiot will ask, "Oh yeah, what about all the other "inconvenient truths", such as "There are two places on Earth that serve as canaries in the coal mine—regions that are especially sensitive to the effects of global warming," i.e. the Arctic and the Antarctic. In the Arctic, "Temperatures are shooting upward there faster than at any other place on the planet." (AIT, p. 126) and "Since the 1970s, the extent and thickness of the Arctic ice cap has diminished precipitously. There are studies now showing that if we continue with business as usual, the Arctic ice cap will completely disappear each year during the summertime." (AIT, p. 143)?

The simple, unvarnished truth is that there is now more Arctic ice than a decade ago, this and other inconvenient truth myths are debunked here.

What about "A new scientific study shows that, for the first time, polar bears have been drowning in significant numbers." (AIT, p. 146)?

This myth was based on a report in September 2004 that 4 dead bears were seen floating far offshore apparently from drowning in an abrupt wind storm. See Monnett, C., J.S. Gleason, and L.M. Rotterman. 2005. Potential effects of diminished sea ice on open-water swimming, mortality, and distribution of polar bears during fall in the Alaskan Beaufort Sea. 4 dead bears and we have a massive extinction underway? Talk about Chicken Little and the SKY IS FALLING!

Actually the opposite effect is on process; Dr. Mitchell Taylor from the Department of Environment, Government of Nunavut, a leading Canadian bear biologist wrote: "Climate change is having an effect on the West Hudson population of polar bears, but really, there is no need to panic. Of the 13 populations of polar bears in Canada, 11 are stable or increasing in number. They are not going extinct, or even appear to be affected at present." [Toronto Star]

These real inconvenient truths should force the Nobel Committee to rescind its award to Al Gore, who certainly must be sweating it out now.

I would like to point out that while Liberals love to point their fingers at Christians and mock them for believing in things that cannot be proven, they have no problem in believing in Global Warming even though there is proof to the contrary. Funny, eh?
