America is a Melting Pot not a Salmagundi

This country was not built by Irish, Polish or Chinese immigrants. Our railroads, highways, dams, and bridges were not built by German, Italian, or French immigrants. From 1836 to 1914, over 30 million Europeans migrated to the United States but no Europeans helped make America the most powerful nation on Earth.

Let me tell you who built this country: immigrants who became Americans, not immigrants who remained immigrants.

America became great not because of multiculturalism but because we did not tolerate other cultures. The people who came here were all required to melt into the pot, not remain a salmagundi salad of Irish, Chinese, Polish or whatever. One learned to speak English, adopt our culture, assimilate and become American.

During both World Wars, Americans of German descent, when it came to decide whether they were Germans or Americans, chose to be Americans and fight against Germany. Americans of Italian descent landed on the shores of Sicily fighting as Americans against Italy. They were Americans first.

Those who wanted to remain different had the decency to mind their own Goddamn business and not force their way of life on others. For example, the Amish do not to apply for jobs that requires the breaking of their faith. Certainly they would never take a job operating a school bus and then refuse on religious grounds to drive it. Yet Muslims take jobs that require them to handle pork and then sue the company for making them handle it (1). Muslims take jobs as public taxi drivers and then refuse to take alcohol-toting passengers (2).

If your religion does not allow you to take part in our customs and culture, then don't infest our society; stay in your own country.

If Muslims want to come to America, then they must learn to become Americans first, even if it conflicts with their faith. Some Mohammedan may complain that in America we have Chinatowns, Irish Parades, Beer barrel Polka picnics, Russian Tea Rooms, Greek Restaurants, and hundreds of other events and festivities of other nationalities and cultures, why can't we accommodate Muslims? First off, there are no accommodations for other nationalities. No one is required to wear green at a Saint Paddies Day parade or required to eat kielbasa at a Beer barrel Polka picnic.

Certainly no Chinatowns in our country impose a dress code on visitors. However, Muslims want their dress codes imposed on others. They ask us to accommodate them. If there is a conflict between our laws and theirs, then they want us to submit to theirs. Last year a Muslim woman wanted to be exempt from the restrictions on head coverings at Rye Playland amusement park despite being a danger to herself and others (see my article Muslims Are Exempt from the Petty Rules of Kaffirs). A Muslim woman who works as a hostess at a Disney-owned restaurant in California filed a discrimination complaint against the company because they wouldn't let her wear her headscarf in front of customers, although they would allow her to wear it behind the scenes (see my article Disney Rightfully Bans Muslim Head Scarf).

The sooner Muslims learn to submit to our culture the sooner they will be accepted in America. I remind my Muslim readers that Islam means submission. Submit to our way of life or go home.

Jihad Watch, 12 Nov 2008, Muslim employees get last laugh: Plant must pay $365,000 to Muslims fired for walking off job

Under a settlement to a federal lawsuit, up to 100 Somali Muslims who are current or former workers at Gold'n Plump Inc. will receive a total of $365,000.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed lawsuits against St. Cloud-based Gold'n Plump and the Work Connection Inc., an employment agency in St. Paul, which handled some hiring for the plant.

The Work Connection will pay $150,000 to workers who were asked to sign a form acknowledging that they might be required to handle pork, which many Muslims consider unclean....

Daniel Pipes, 10 Oct 2006, More on Those Alcohol-shy Taxi Drivers

Eva Buzek, a flight attendant, returned to Minneapolis from a trip to France and encountered five straight taxi drivers who refused to take her home because she was had two bottles of wine in her suitcase. Buzek, an immigrant from Poland, considered this un-American. "I came to this country and I didn't expect anybody to adjust to my needs. I don't want to impose my beliefs on anyone else. That's why I'm in this country, because of the freedom. What's going to be next? ... Do I have to cover my head?"
