The year was 1977 and my father had to to get his toe amputated due to complications from his diabetes, so he asked my wife and me to help him run his costume jewelry business until he was better. He never got better and we ended up running the business until the present day, although now it is all fine gold and diamonds.

I wasn't going to write anything today but I decided I have to write something even though my Father-in-Law died yesterday.
My own father died 20 years ago and Saturday my wife's dad, the man I also called "Dad" for the last 30 years passed away peacefully at the age of 86.
