Hannah Montana and other Moon Sightings

Becky over at Just a Girl in short shorts talking about whatever was only half-right about the Hannah Montana/Vanity Fair pics:

With the Iraq War dragging on forever, the economy in the tank, record high oil company profits—how do people have the energy to get outraged over an artsy fartsy Vanity Fair portrait of the bare back of a popular tween, or a prom invitation scrawled on the bare butts of some high school lacrosse players?

Becky's right that there are more important things to worry about than teen photos and moonings. However, the Iraq War is not a war, it's an occupation much like the half-century occupation of Germany and Japan where we still have more troops than in Iraq. It's not really a war because we lost more troops during Clinton's peace years than all the time we've been in Iraq. A little perspective please.

Muslim Goat Wife Passed Away

Photo: sassy goat milk soap

In February of 2006 I related the story of the Sudanese man who was forced to 'marry' a goat. I discovered only recently that the black and white goat was named Rose.

So it was with deep regret and profound sadness that I learned:

14 Apr 2008,
Telegraph.co.uk

The black and white goat named Rose became an internet phenomenon after her owner discovered the man, Charles Tombe, copulating with the animal.

In accordance with Sudanese tradition, Mr Tombe was forced to marry Rose and pay a dowry of 15,000 Sudanese dinars (£25).

Rose has since died after choking on a plastic bag while eating scraps on the streets of Juba.

Now this morning the 150,000-ton tanker Takayama was attacked about 270 miles off the east coast of Yemen while it was heading for Saudi Arabia causing oil to spike to a record $117.40 a barrel.

MSM and their View of Israel

Photo

Dan Rather, Katie Couric, and an Israeli commando were captured by terrorists in Iraq.

The leader of the terrorists told them that he would grant them each one last request before they were beheaded.
Dan Rather said, "Well, I'm a Texan, so I'd like one last bowlful of hot spicy chili."

The leader nodded to an underling who left and returned with the chili.

Rather ate it all and said, "Now I can die content."

Katie Couric said, "I'm a reporter to the end. I want to take out my tape recorder and describe the scene here and what's about to happen. Maybe someday someone will hear it and know that I was on the job till the end."

The terror leader directed an aide to hand over the tape recorder and Couric dictated some comments.
She then said, "Now I can die happy."
