Mohammed knew that desert Arabs had little hope of ever having enough wine, women and song in this world through enterprise or intellectual effort as the Jews had done, so he promised devout Muslims wine, women and song in the next world.
According to Muslim belief, everything one longs for in this world, will be there in Paradise. Rivers of wine and clear drink, an unending supply of nubile young women of "dazzling whiteness" wearing costly robes, golden and diamond studded bracelets, perfumes from the essences of the most exotic orchids.
One of the great myths of Islam is what awaits in Jannah or Paradise for every Muslim (not just the martyr): 72 houris (virgins of either sex, depending on your orientation) of indescribable beauty and sensuality.
It doesn't take much effort to locate stories about virgins being raped before they are executed in Iran; simply google virgin rape iran to come across thousands of reports as the following:
