Fighting too many wars saved the world for freedom loving peoples everywhere. We should remember that.

On this Memorial Day it would do all of us some good if we reflected on who to thank that we are still free in this country and that we still speak English:

What I wish is that some President would ask the public to make it a tradition as well to light one candle sometime during the weekend to say the words, "We remember all of our fallen heroes. We honor their sacrifice that allows us to enjoy the freedom in the greatest Nation in the history of the world. You are not forgotten - you are always in the thoughts of a most grateful nation."

The last full measure of devotion is an awesome, terrible thing. Yet, magnificent; and it is upon the altar of their sacrifice that we enjoy the freedom of the greatest Nation in the history of the world.
Stand and salute, and remember them.

It seems that every passing year, Memorial Day is less of a day of gratitude and of poignant remembrance for our dead heroes and more of a three day holiday weekend kicking off the unofficial beginning of summer. And I blame liberals for this.

Today, Memorial Day, Google could not find a notable person or event to memorialize with an artistic logo for their home page.
