When Feeling Lucky Brings you here

Blogger Imagining the Tenth Dimension posted an interesting suggestion today while discussing google search:

Do you know about the the "Find Chuck Norris" experiment? You type those three words into Google, push the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button, and you're taken to what at first glance looks like a Chuck Norris joke in the form of a Google error message. It becomes clear as you read further down the page that the window you're looking at is not affiliated with Google, and there are some discussions of viral marketing in the context of the Find Chuck Norris experiment that are linked to from the page.

I do not know how long that page will remain as the "I'm Feeling Lucky" result, so here is the reduced image. Click here for the original-sized view.

So I wondered if some of my readers got to some of my more visited posts by typing key words in google search and then pressing "I'm Feeling Lucky," so I tried "Muslim Goat Sex" and on my first try I got to How to get a Muslim's goat - sex with animals

I wrote this article when I first started blogging back in February of 2006 and it turned out to be one of my more consistently read articles. It is usually in the top 13 posts read every month. I have also written a number of posts on the Muslim appreciation of Camels, the most recent was All Beauty Must be Veiled, but Muslim goat sex continues to be more popular, in terms of articles, that is.

At the end of that article I asked, "If one had to describe the belief system just discussed above, would you use any words other than barbaric, savage, primitive, cruel, paedophilic, bestial, and mired in the 7th Century? If so, give me those words." In the two years since I asked the question, with tens of thousands of readers having read the article, no one has yet suggested alternative words.
