New Jersey going smoke free
I do not drink. But I do have visitors from Europe and Asia coming to visit me every few weeks. I schedule those meetings in New York City where I can have a glass of wine or even a beer without choking. Finally, I have a choice. With this new law, instead of 21% of New Jersey smoking wherever they want, 79% who do not smoke now have a choice of where they can eat or drink.
Before the law, smokers used to say, if you don't like smoke, drive to New York or Connecticut if you want to eat or have a beer. Now it's my turn. You want to eat or drink AND smoke? Drive to Pennsylvania. It's your choice. Is that fair? Seems more fair that 80% of us have a choice and 20% do not. Tough. Now it's my turn - it's only fair.
Smoking goes with drinking, they say. So does urinating but we don't allow people to pee all over the floor; you have to do it away from where people actually do the drinking.
I suppose one could make the argument that urination is natural and one shouldn't be restricted as to where one can pee. Yes, one has the right to urinate, of course, just not in front of me while I eat or drink you slob.
