Typos as art form - am I spelling Brrreeeport correctly?

Google's Quote of the Day: "Typos are very important to all written form. It gives the reader something to look for so they aren't distracted by the total lack of content in your writing" - Randy K. Milholland

If you type in bondage in google you will get 61,600,000 listings. But if you make a mistake and type instead bondagge you get only 26,700 listings for basically the very same material.

While you accidentally made a typo, these sites purposely leave tagged breadcrumbs for you to find; one site had the following tags: bondagve bondage domination, bondavge bondage domination, bondagbe bondage domination, bondabge bondage domination, bondagge bondage - just in case you mis-spelled it some other way.

But this is common with porno sites. What about words that porn sites have no use for, say syzygy? Let's type in syzyga and we get: http://phoenicia.org/alphabetcontrov.htm. An interesting discussion on The Hellenic Alphabet Origins, Use, and Early Function.

To me, typos and serendipity are inextricably linked. One cannot induce serendipity by trying to look up ideas or concepts that might be interesting. It has to be a happy accident.

Which is why typos are so important. Let your subconscious decide what path your mind should take today. Don't be so quick to backspace that errant character in the search box. Let your fingers relax. Let your hand drift a little even.

Who knows... you may one day type in the words Brrreeeport typo in google's blog search and find the top listing - returning you to this very spot.
