My brother oversees the finances of our company and he noticed a mistake in the addition of billable hours from one of the law firms we use to defend ourselves from stupid laws and regulations of the FCC. So he called the accounting department which acknowledged the mistake and was transferred to one of our lawyers to OK the change in the invoice.

A month later, he noticed a charge of one-quarter hour for a conversation which he could not tally with a known issue. When he called to ask about the charge he was told that he was billed for talking to the lawyer the other month disputing the previous invoice. My brother said that he was not going to pay a fee for correcting their mistakes. Well, after some minor name-calling and yelling, we got the charge expunged. And I do not mean corrected, I mean expunged, removed entirely - my brother told them that there better not be another charge for questioning this charge.
