Assuming the world does not end today.
On a serious note, the Statue of Liberty and the end of the world in this post is no accident. On another June 6 long ago, fine young soldiers fought for liberty and to keep the world from ending as we know it. In that era, at that time, but for their bravery, the end of the world would indeed have come. A heartfelt thank you to their memory and to those still living who fought and fight for this country's freedom.
