Galilea Montijo Video Hoax from Planck's Constant

At the bottom of every post my reader will notice a tag cloud search Swicki [Update, tag cloud is now here] that lets my readers see the top searches on my site. As well they can put in a search term and find articles voted on by the Swicki community. I get 5,000 search requests a week and monitor them to see what my readers are looking for. For the past few weeks one of the most often entered search terms was "Galilea Montijo."

Galilea Montijo is a 33 year old Mexican soap opera star born in Guadalajara (see the photo gallery below). Galilea first came to fame after winning La Chica TV pageant in 1993. What brings this woman to be the top search term (she is number 4 in Technorati, beating out Paris Hilton and even Myspace) is the rumor that an x-rated video circulating on the Internet is of her. In the video, a young woman who looks like her is having sex with two men. It seems the best way to get fame and fortune these days is to release a sex video of yourself. However, in this case, Galilea may have gotten famous even though it is not her in the video. Before I tell you why this is a hoax, let me digress a moment.

You may wonder why I bother writing about such topics. I often get emails noting that my blog carries stories about Muslims, beautiful women, Israel, dogs, censorship, hoaxes, humor, Sopranos, immigration, New York Times, and tort reform, so what the hell is the main theme of this blog?

I do not have a theme. There I said it. I write about what interests me, although most strongly I write about my Islamophobia. I should mention though that the best way to fight the War on Terror is to remember what we are fighting for: freedom. One of those freedoms is the freedom to print photos of beautiful women.

This photo above of Betty Grable is the most famous pinup of World War II and decorated the walls of thousands of army tents and hundreds of bomber noses. There is hardly a single WWII movie that doesn't explain to the viewer that she is why we are fighting fascism in Germany and Japan. Of course, Betty merely symbolized the every-girl back home.

So in my small way I am fighting against the encroachment of Islam in America by broadcasting photos of beautiful women.

Now back to Galilea. She has vigorously denied that it is her in the video and it seems now that it is in fact a 39 year old porn star from Colombia, Monique Fuentes, seen here in the photo right, who has her own website which I can't even give you the link to because it's worse than NSFW, it's probably not safe for Home.

Ms Fuentes has similar facial and body features as Galilea and so it is not hard to see how the Internet rumor can spread. Unfortunately most of the sites point to the porn video with claims that it is in fact that of Galilea Montijo. Hopefully this article will be read by some readers of the hundreds of petty blogs that have popped up purely to defame the character of Ms Montijo. One of the problems with the Internet is that rumors and hoaxes quickly spread without the ability for retractions or corrections to squelch them. Sadly, even the latest Wiki entry for Galilea still does not have the update that the video is in fact of someone else.

If I were a cynical person I would think that one way to get instant world-wide name recognition is to find a porn star that looks like you and then bruit it about the Internet as if it were you, then release the name of the actual sex star later. Of course, in the case of Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson, they couldn't care less about the hit to their reputation so genuine videos work just as well there.
