Disneys Pirate and Princess Party
By Bernie on 11 Aug 2007
Tonight Walt Disney World lets you become a pirate or a princess in the place where dreams come true. The Magic Kingdom® Park has special hours between 7 p.m. and midnight for a limited number of guests who are given an adventure map and treasure pouch and allowed to search for chocolate doubloons and royal beads. Best of all, if you have the guts, come to the party dressed in your favorite pirate or princess costume! Aaaarrgh!
They throw everyone else out of the park at 7 p.m. so it was no waiting to get on rides that typically take an hour or more at normal park hours. The other dates for the Pirate and Princess Party are August 15, 18, 21, 24, 28, 31 and September 3, 2007. If you are a Disney Vacation Club Member you get the tickets for
Adult (age 10+) $38.29
Child (age 3-9) $31.90
Otherwise it's a few bucks more.
I should mention that at least once a day some ride we are on has technical difficulties. I've been told that most rides break down 3 or 4 times a day from 10 minutes to as long as an hour or more. Most likely from the extremely heavy traffic that DisneyWorld gets, although we also had problems when we were at Universal Studios. It's also been extremely hot this past week in Orlando with most days in the upper 90s or over 100 degrees.
The weatherman said stay indoors and don't exert yourself. Great advice for someone vacationing in Disneyworld!
Sadly, I do not have the balls of Jack Sparrow to let you see me in pirate gear and garb. Perhaps when I'm laid to rest I'll release those photos. Not because a pirate outfit makes me look silly; rather because it makes me look like a bloodthirsty, barbaric, savage Muslim buccaneer. That would be tough to live down.
