Esquire Magazine Cover: actress Charlize Theron, named the sexiest woman alive, November 2007 issue.
I was not yet blogging when Esquire named Jessica Biel "Sexiest Woman Alive 2005" and I certainly would not have argued with that designation. Last year I reported on my favorite actress Scarlett Johansson - Sexiest Woman Alive 2006 and I would like to start a tradition, so this year we look at Charlize Theron, and what is there not to look at?
OK, skipping over her stunning looks, anyone who saw her playing Aileen Wuornos, a Daytona Beach prostitute who became a serial killer in the film Monster
For those of you who saw her naked in Reindeer Games (Director's Cut), it is interesting to note that one doesn't have to have big boobies to be the sexiest woman alive.
Many of my readers may know that Charlize Theron was raised on a farm in Benoni, South Africa and was sent to Milan at 16 to become a model following the death of her father who was shot by Theron's mother, while defending herself from his drunken abuse. After Milan she came to New York, attending the Joffrey Ballet School, where she trained as a ballet dancer. A knee injury put the kibosh on that career when she was 18.
Just FYI, she prefers her last name Theron to be pronounced as "Thrown."
There are some political issues that are disturbing to me: She misapplies her energy to self-defeating causes, such as her efforts to put mobile health clinics in rural areas in South Africa where access to care is limited. Read my post For God's Sake - Stop helping Africa.
