Leftist Intolerance
For all their whining and crying about the racist and intolerant rightwing, leftists continue to practice what they preach against.
Last week, on the Bill Maher Show, leftwing hecklers disrupted Bill's show (1).
And now the Left is even showing their true colors in regard to the homeless:

Leftist Intolerance!San Francisco - the liberal, left-coast city conservatives love to mock - could be undergoing a transformation when it comes to homeless people. Although the city would still be a poor choice for a pep rally for the war in Iraq, indications are that residents have had it with aggressive panhandlers, street squatters and drug users.
"Maybe there has been an epiphany," says David Latterman, president of Fall Line Analytics, a local market research firm. "People have realized they can hate George Bush but still not want people crapping in their doorway."
And God Forbid that anyone should say anything negative about Islamic Terror, UC Berkely leftists disrupt Islamic Awareness Week:

VIDEO EXCLUSIVE From UC Berkeley Plus PhotosGitmo guy talked about his fascist government here in the United States.
He believes we should take care of the fascist government here at home first.
Oh brother.
I was walking through fascist America yesterday, beautiful weather by the way, compared with today, and I noticed the heavy, grey weight on everyone's faces. Those poor, sad people in Starbucks pretending to be happy and carefree when everyone knows how heavy a yoke we all live under. I saw children playing in Chinatown New York laughing and smiling when all leftists know that deep in those children's hearts there is pain and anguish from the brutal oppression of their will and freedom.
I see a young man buying flowers at a Korean Deli, probably something he is forced to do by the brutal, neocon administration of Bush and Cheney, those dictators who have taken away every liberty we used to enjoy. Those are probably not even real flowers, but merely plastic, fascist imitations of flowers, oh my God how can we endure living in this country?
I wanted to make a phone call to my wife, ask her if she wanted me to pick up any fruit, but was afraid the NSA was listening; would they think that apples were a codeword for Apple's Cube which we know is really a representation of the kaaba in Mecca? Orange comes from the Arabic an-naranj. What could I safely say over the phone that wouldn't be misconstrued as terror-related? I'm sure every one of my readers knows of someone who has suddenly disappeared and is probably languishing unheard from in some faraway dungeon. How often do we come upon an empty cab in the streets, the driver suddenly whisked away for questioning?I know that you, like me, sleep with one eye open, waiting for that knock on the door. All the sad Americans, just shadows of themselves, living in deep fear of our fascist government, their souls shaking with pitiful, timid tremors. It hurts me to even write this.
What bothers me about leftist intolerance is that it is hypocritical beyond belief. Leftists supposedly are against violence, bigotry, sexism, homophobia, and blah, blah. But it is all nonsense; we constantly see leftists supporting Islam which is the most barbaric, sexist, bigoted, homophobic political system in the world. What gives? Can any person really be in such deep denial? Are they so blinded by Bush hatred that they would support child-molesters, rapists, gay-bashers, and suicide bombers, as long as they are opposed to America and George Bush?

open web, closed mindsBecause I have always considered myself to be liberal (modifed the past couple decades with the adjective "practical”), I am much more distressed by the attitude of those on the Left towards anyone who disagrees with either their ends or means on a particular issue. From my campus days in the Vietnam antiwar movement, and right through the Clinton Administration, to the present day, I have seen the Left instantly demonize and dehumanize their oponents, while demanding complete adherence to their orthodox tenets. As I have said before at this weblog, this Leftist intolerance – often in the name of tolerance — seems to be based on a premise of moral and intellectual superiority, and a refusal to concede that those with opposing views are acting in good faith (as opposed to acting with a hidden agenda of increasing personal wealth or power). Thus, once you have strayed from their litany of mandated positions, you are ostracized — your support is unwanted and your disagreements are worthy only of ridicule and contempt.

Liberal IntoleranceLeftists claim to honor "diversity", and democrats claim to be the party of "tolerance". But the hatred and intolerance of lock-step leftists and extremist democrats is now clear for all to see. Leftists pretend to "celebrate diversity", but only up to the point where one disagrees with them. Democrats pretend to be tolerant of differences, but only the superficial differences of race or ethnicity, and are completely intolerant of any different ideas, beliefs, or values that truly make us individuals. If anyone — or in this case, any group — disagrees with leftist ideology, they will be destroyed. In the name of tolerance. This is the fate now facing the Boy Scouts of America.

Film.com, Maher Boots Protester From Audience
Maher on Friday night helped security remove a rowdy protester from the studio during his weekly HBO show "Real Time with Bill Maher," and it was all captured on live television.
Maher was talking science during one of his weekly panel discussions when a protester in his audience stood up, held up a smuggled-in sign reading "9/11 is a cover up fraud" and shouted comments to the same effect.
The host tried to shout down the audience member, who only became more agitated.
"Do we have some (expletive) security in this building," Maher yelled, "or do I have to come down there and kick his (expletive)?"
When security reached the man's aisle and the man resisted leaving, Maher ran into the seats and helped them push him out the door, shouting "Out! Out! Out!"
Several other protesters, sprinkled throughout the audience, then stood up and shouted.
"This isn't the Iowa Caucus, OK, we're not here to debate," Maher shouted with most of his audience cheering him on. "This is the problem with live television."
