Not Everyone wants us to Leave Iraq

One tiresome refrain that the left loves to sing is that Europe wants the USA to get out of Iraq. It might be interesting for you to read a European perspective on Iraq that differs from conventional Liberal wisdom.
The Atlantic Community, an open think tank and online platform for transatlantic debate, presents the final results of its survey on European attitudes towards proposed plans for Iraq. Policy analysts from 10 European countries were interviewed for a three-part series that was completed on 4 Oct 2007; findings:
- Europeans Want America to Stay in Iraq
- Europe Should Help, But Not Follow US Lead
- Premature US Withdrawal Would Threaten Europe

In one of my previous posts I outlined why Muslim women were in denial on the abuse of women under Islam. In a similar manner Liberals are in denial about Iraq. If Bill Clinton had started the Iraq War, that defeatist coward Murtha would have been singing a different song about the lives lost in Iraq. But because of Bush Derangement Syndrome, they want to believe that the whole world is opposed to the US being in Iraq. If the Saudis really were opposed to our presence in Iraq they would have cut off oil to the US. As for France and Germany, once we exposed the real reasons they were initially opposed to invading Iraq (they did not want to have revealed that they ignored the sanctions against doing business with Iraq and were making money illegally) there was no reason to continue with the pretense that invading Iraq was wrong.
Secretly, Russia and China, who have their own Muslim problems, would love it if the US could eliminate the threat of Islamic terror throughout the world.
Before Liberals start to think about the joy of seeing Iraq descend into chaos they go out and buy a box of condoms. The pleasure of that thought is greater than any sexual release. "Iraqis will never take to Democracy" "Efforts to install a democracy in Iraq is a flawed strategy with little chance of succeeding".
In an effort to be balanced, I should note that Liberals are not the only anti-War whiners; unfortunately that last remark comes from a Republican defeatist coward, U.S. Rep. Peter Hoekstra.
It is sad to note that people we elected to Congress never read the documents of our Founding Fathers. Thomas Paine wrote a series of pamphlets called The American Crises precisely because then, as now, there were defeatist cowards who did not believe that the American Colonies would ever take to democracy and that fighting for it was futile and a flawed strategy.
The Democrats are indeed sunshine patriots who pound their chests declaring that simply by opposing this administration they are demonstrating their patriotism. No, opposing this administration only shows that you live in a country that allows you to do so because of the blood spilt by winter soldiers. Opposition only means you disagree, not that you are a patriot. If opposition to US foreign policy were an indicator of patriotism to America, Osama Bin Laden would be the most patriotic American alive! Opposition, my friends, has nothing to do with courage and bravery. In fact, opposition has turned a once courageous and brave soldier into a whining, lying, defeatist coward.
Thomas Paine would have recognized the Democrats in our Congress today.
THESE are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value.
