New Orleans Rebuilding - Hoax of the Century
Blogger Texas Fred has the right idea, "New Orleans is sinking into the swamp, nature's reclamation process, let it happen…". Those of us who have been to New Orleans usually have these words to say: "dirty, smelly, filthy, sewer-smeared, crime-ridden, etc." And that just the people -- the streets and tenements are even worse. And I'm talking about before Katrina.
Rebuilding New Orleans makes as much sense as building schools over Chernobyl and about as safe. The city administration would be wise to make it as unwelcome as possible for the poor to come back to New Orleans. Let them stay in Texas, Oklahoma and other states where they pose less risk to the general population by having less concentration of numbers.
I do agree with the protesters, though, up to a point. I do not believe the present shit-holes should be demolished only to be replaced by new construction that will again be shit-holes in short order. Why rebuild or fix at all? The tenants will be just as content and comfortable living in the buildings as they are now.
Oh, and before you send off a check to Katrina Relief or some other idiotic waste of money, please visit Scams where you can find other magic tricks that will move money from your pocket to someone else's.
