Today I saw this billboard that broadcasts Need Help? Call Jesus: 1-800-005-3787:
So out of curiosity I did. A Mexican showed up with a tow truck.
Actually, Jesus is the 6th most popular Hispanic name (the 73rd most popular in the whole USA 2005) with Jose the number one Hispanic name for boys (Maria is numero uno for girls). The trend seems to be that Hispanics are using the more Spanish version of a name for their children, Maria being more popular than Mary among Hispanics. In fact the 4th most popular girl's name in 2006 was Isabella []#2 in 2008], would you believe?
Jose is the 30th most popular name in this country; Interestingly, Mohammed has been losing ground as a popular boy's name these past ten years in the States:
