Eliot Spitzer and the $4300 Hooker

I think Eliot Spitzer is a lowlife scumbag, but I don't think he should resign simply because he was a client of prostitutes. However, I believe he should never have been elected Governor precisely because he prosecuted at least two prostitution rings as head of the state’s organized crime task force and because he's an unethical weasel. An ethical person would have refused to waste the state's time and money on victimless crimes. Unfortunately, we in America are still in the stone age in regards to sexual matters.

The only thing worse than the State of New York wasting time on prostitution rings is the Feds wasting time on prostitution rings. Perhaps in that regard there are those who feel that this is just karma working out its balancing act. But shouldn't the Feds be spying on Muslim terrorists? Do they have that much free time that they can ignore the real threats to this country?

Anyone who needs to pay $4300 for a few hours of sex (the actual rate might have been $1,000 an hour, see rates) has some sexual problems not being met by his wife and it shouldn't be any of our business. I don't understand why we get our panties in a twist that he paid for sex yet there was only a small peep over his abuse of the power of his office to spy and attempt to destroy political rivals.

We're all getting upset over the wrong things. He paid for sex? Oh really? Is that what should destroy a man's career? He can lie, spy, steal, bully, do whatever he wants but pay for sexual pleasure, oh no! Our priorities are definitely screwed up in this country.
