My parents were lifelong Democrats. I live in a city where a dozen Democrats run for Mayor for every one one Republican. I live in Hudson County, the smallest and most densely populated of New Jersey’s 21 counties and which has been corruptly-, Democratically-controlled since its creation in 1840. I live in a State that is so full of Democrats that even after they die, they continue to vote... and often.

After a century and a half of Democratic rule the shlubs living here are the 8th highest taxed citizens in the US. Back in 1970 New Jersey had a personal property tax which taxed business assets. In order to avoid paying those taxes I made sure my business owned nothing. We leased everything we needed from a corporation which did not have offices in New Jersey. The taxman had suspicions that I owned that company but he was unable to prove it. Business taxes only cause the business to shift its processes.

The US has the second highest taxes on corporations in the world. But if you are smart you avoid those taxes by spending a little extra money setting up businesses in countries where the corporate taxes are low and funneling most of your profits there. McCain wants to cut the Corporate Tax Rate From 35 To 25 Percent. Well, that's a start but I still won't report any profits in this country for the sake of this country. That's right - I avoid paying corporate taxes because it's bad for the country. Because I pay less taxes than Obama wants me to, I have more money to hire more people so I can do more business and hire even more people. The income taxes the government eventually levies on my employees more than makes up for the corporate taxes they do not get from me.

Paying corporate taxes is unpatriotic and detrimental to our economy. Of course, Obama wants to close up the loopholes. Won't work. I can dance around any plugs to loopholes this stupid government constructs.

First of all, let's all understand that there is no way that a corporation ever really pays taxes. Corporations shift taxes to consumers in the form of higher prices, to employees in the form of lower wages, and to investors in the form of smaller dividends. If it reaches a point where it can't raise prices, lower wages, or pay less in dividends then it will shift its taxable profits oversees.

If our government were run by people with brains they would eliminate corporate taxes altogether and let me do all my business in this country instead of wasting money on foreign rent, foreign employees and sham accounting. In order to avoid paying 5 million in taxes annually, I spend at least a million dollars on offices, personnel, equipment, foreign taxes, lawyers and accountants. That's one million that should have been spread around this country. Multiply me by a million other businesses and the 700 billion bailout is chump change.

Taxing corporations is a political joke. For Democrats it makes it look like they are for the common man, against the wealthy. If Democrats eliminated the corporate tax everyone would have more money, especially the poor. If food was cheaper and businesses could pay them higher wages the double-whammy would most likely float them above the poverty line. But without poor people who would vote Democratic? Idiot Hollywood types and university professors? There's not enough of them to vote in a dog-catcher.
