Fantasy Football and Gaza YouTube videos
By Bernie on 26 Jan 2009
Youtube user kingjames828 uploaded an interesting video describing it thus: "This is a combination of the best NFL Fantasy Player Files. Each video contains a different NFL player doing a cool move whether its passing, catching, or kicking the football. I ordered the videos from good to the best."
The trouble with the video? It's all fake. If one knew very little about football and were slightly gullible then the actions depicted might actually be believed to be true. In the same manner, if one knew very little about Palestinians and were very gullible and viewed the following YouTube video, one would quickly condemn Israel for war crimes.
Here's the description by YouTubeuser Moi84 a Palestinian tool:
This video is my recording of an Aljazeera news segment aired on Friday June 10th [2006]at 10pm EST.
...
Israeli artillery shells have struck a group of Palestinian civilians at a beach in Bait Lahiya in northern Gaza, killing seven people, including three children, and wounding 36 others, Aljazeera reports.
The artillery shells were fired on Friday by Israeli gunboats stationed just off the Mediterranean coast.
The dead and the wounded Palestinians were having a picnic on the beach as it was the weekly holiday, Aljazeera's correspondent Wael al-Dahduh said.
The barrage scattered body parts along the seaside. A tent was destroyed, and bloody sheets were scattered about. A crowd quickly flocked to the area, screaming and running around in confusion.
The only problem? It wasn't the Israeli military. First came the Hamas cover-up: A Palestinian security source said Sunday [11 Jun 2006] that Hamas operatives had cleared the debris from the explosion which killed seven Palestinian civilians on Friday in order to frustrate the IDF's attempts to investigate the incident.
Then the next day [12 Jun 2006] Pallywood Magic Studios spliced some phony footage to make it look like the Israelis were at fault, see this falsified video clip of the Gaza beach bombing incident. But this video shows what really happened.
Then Hamas used the incident as an excuse to end a 16-month cease-fire:
Jerusalem Post, 9 Jun 2006,
Hamas vows 'earthquake' after 7 killed on Gaza beachSecurity forces raised their alert level over the weekend after Hamas effectively ended a 16-month truce, announcing it would resume attacks following an explosion - possibly caused by IDF artillery fire - that killed seven civilians in the Gaza Strip Friday.
Hamas's armed wing, Izaddin al-Kassam, said its members had fired at least 15 rockets at Sderot and other Israeli communities since Friday. The announcement was the first of its kind since Hamas and other Palestinian armed organizations agreed on a truce in Cairo in February 2005.
The IDF said that between 25 and 30 Kassam rockets and mortar shells had been fired at Israel since Friday night.
Friday's incident was preceded by the targeted killing of seven terrorists involved in Kassam rocket attacks, including Jamal Abu Samhadana, commander of the Popular Resistance Committees and head of Hamas's new security force in the Gaza Strip, who was killed by an IAF bomb late Thursday night at a PRC training camp.
Minutes after the explosion, an IAF aircraft fired a rocket killing two Hamas members said to have been responsible for the many Kassam attacks on Sderot last week.
The blast, on the Gaza beach between and Sudaniya and Beit Lahiya Friday, scattered body parts, destroyed a tent and sent bloody sheets flying into the air. A panicked crowd quickly gathered, screaming and running around hysterically.
If one is going to fantasize about reality one can do better than imagine that Israel is somehow a terrorist state. I suggest one fantasize about football:
