Since the Gaza War started London's Metropolitan Police says it has recorded an increase in antisemitism in London. Thankfully some British Muslims have denounced those attacks. The leaders said that British Jews "should not be held responsible" for Israel's actions in Gaza (1). As much as I appreciate that there is some humanity among UK Muslims, it is still disappointing that these same people in the past eight years have not denounced Hamas for bombing schools, hospitals, temples and civilians in Israel.

Is there a brand of irony one can name to describe the absurdity of Hamas' specific killing of innocent civilians and the shelling of non-military targets and then crying that innocent Palestinians they were using as shields were killed? Or that Mosques and schools were shelled by Israelis because Hamas soldiers were hiding there?

If you read comments to my articles you will see Muslims crying that Israel is killing women and children even if Hamas soldiers are using them as shields. Oh, I see. It's OK for Muslims to specifically kill innocent children, to bomb schools, to shell religious sites, but if in the fog of war women and children (purposely put in harm's way by Hamas) are accidentally killed by Israel, Oh my Allah! What an unforgivable crime. One of my Muslim readers even demanded that Israel must not shoot at Hamas soldiers even if they purposely hide behind women and children. He screams, "If you see a terrorist or a criminal hiding behind a woman or a child.. you shoot both?"

Perhaps this is a new way to fight a war. One side can randomly fire missiles hoping to hit as many civilian targets as they wish, and the other side must not fire on any of the enemy if that enemy is hiding behind their own women and children. This is as absurd as the joke where a Polack comes into a bank holding a gun to his own head and demands money or he'll shoot.
