When God is Angry - Kangeroos Die

I have a problem with people who think that 'God rains down fire and brimstone, and a horrible tempest' whenever an Earthling does something wrong. We are an insignificant species on a small planet in an equally small solar system, only one of 400 billion other solar systems in a small galaxy, only one out of 100 billion other known galaxies in a universe that is easily one tiny universe out of trillions of others. We are like ants in Africa ignorant of all the other anthills outside of our own little square foot of sand. I have no doubt there are millions of planets just like ours and shit happens on them because it just does and for no other reason.

So I was annoyed to read that a pastor in Australia blames the passing of abortion laws for the bushfires in Victoria (1) saying of God, "That His conditional protection has been removed from the nation of Australia, in particular Victoria, for approving the slaughter of innocent children in the womb.”.

The passing of Victoria's Abortion law may well be the source of the problem, but it's not God, rather I suspect anti-abortion extremists; it is reported that arson is likely the cause of the fires (2). It should be noted that good Christians everywhere denounced this idiot pastor for his views.

How do I know God is not behind the worst fire known in Australian history? Consider that a little over 160 humans perished in the fires while millions and millions of animals died (3). Does that sound like any God you ever heard of? To kill millions of innocent animals that had nothing to do with abortion legislation just to make a point over a legal matter with a few humans? I don't think so.

Any person who actually believes this is divine retribution obviously believes in a God that is petty, vicious, unmerciful, unjust, savage, brutal, and primitive. In other words, that person believes in an Islamic-type God.

I often observe that when an Islamic cleric comes out with some stupid, primitive, barbaric statement there are almost zero Muslims writing, commenting, protesting that the stupid, primitive, barbaric imam does not represent Muslims whereas when Christian clerics issue stupid, primitive, barbaric statements there is no shortage of Christians denouncing him and the donkey he rode in on. Why is it that the great, great, great majority of Muslims excuse, condone and remain silent to all the stupidity, violence and backwardness of their fellow Muslims?

For balance, I should mention that we have our own abortion terrorist group in America called the Army of God (4). Civilized people and our media rightly condemn the Army of God for the vicious thugs they are when they act in the name of their God. Sadly the same people, the same media, are afraid to condemn vicious Muslim thugs when they act in the name of their God.

ABC Brisbane, Abortion laws to blame for bush fires?

Catch the Fire Ministries (CTFM) leader Pastor Danny Nalliah said he would spearhead an effort to provide every assistance to devastated communities, although he was not surprised by the bush fires due to a dream he had last October relating to consequences of the abortion laws passed in Victoria.

He said these bushfires have come as a result of the incendiary abortion laws which decimate life in the womb.

Yesterday (Monday 9th February 2009), the front page of the Herald Sun newspaper reported "The Darkest hour for Victoria".

A few months ago the news media should have reported "The darkest hour for the unborn" but unfortunately the "Decriminalization of Abortion bill" went through parliament and was passed, thus making many people call Victoria "the baby killing state of Australia", Mr Nalliah said.

CNN, Arson thought responsible for the destruction

Authorities were saying Wednesday that more than 500 people have been injured, nearly 1,000 homes destroyed, thousands left homeless and at least 365,000 hectares (901,935 acres) of the Australian countryside burned black.

Those numbers were expected to continue to rise Thursday.

Arson is thought responsible for all the destruction in the towns of Marysville and Kinglake. As many as half the homes in Kinglake have burned to the ground, police say.

John Brumby, the premier of the hard-hit state of Victoria, said many of 20 fires burning Wednesday were suspected to have been started by arsonists -- an act described earlier by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd as "mass murder."

"There seems little doubt these were deliberately lit -- a number of them last night," Brumby said on national television.

"I think words escape us all when it comes to describing deliberate arson."

Huffington Post, Australia's Animals Scorched In Wildfires

Kangaroo corpses lay scattered by the roadsides while wombats that survived the wildfire's onslaught emerged from their underground burrows to find blackened earth and nothing to eat.

Wildlife rescue officials on Wednesday worked frantically to help the animals that made it through Australia's worst-ever wildfires but they said millions of animals likely perished in the inferno.

Wiki, Army of God (USA)

Army of God (AOG) is an extremist right-wing anti-abortion organization that sanctions the use of force to combat abortion in the United States. HBO produced a documentary on the Army Of God entitled Soldiers in the Army of God. The anthrax incidents have resulted in their being mentioned among terrorist organizations at the FBI.
