Forgetting September 11 2001

On every September 11th I usually refrain from writing blog articles on those who attacked us, but it has become impossible not to mention something very evil growing in this country.

We are forgetting.

It is interesting to note that even after all the conspiracy theories have been thoroughly debunked years ago (1), there still exist whackos who ignore the actual culprits, Muslims, and instead blame it on controlled demolitions engineered by George Bush, the CIA, space aliens (2), the devil, or the world's perennial scapegoat, the Jews (3).

Since these conspiracy theories are advanced by morons with limited intelligence and a strong disdain for facts, we can forgive the nonsensical output of their tiny little brains; what is hard to forgive is someone who ignores facts they well know are true because of cowardice and fear thereby appeasing our enemies.

We recall that during the Danish Cartoon Affair that almost no major American newspaper reprinted the cartoons in fear of Islamic retribution (4).

How soon we forget: textbooks used in our schools now blame no one in particular for the attack, just some nebulous assortment of terrorists (5). Prentice Hall's textbook on world history informs young readers that "teams of terrorists hijacked four airplanes on the East Coast." Were they Muslim extremists? They don't say. Were they Jihadists? Don't know.

And so young minds must wonder what a world we live in when such random events can occur without context or reason.

At Education World they do not have the testicles to blame Muslim extremists as well, but do mention that one should not feel negatively toward Arabs without directly stating that it was Muslim Arabs that attacked us. They ask, "How can teachers help students put the events of September 11 into a meaningful context? What can teachers do to help their students deal -- and heal?"

What? How can one put anything in context without context? And what's to heal? Must our children forgive and forget without even knowing who to forgive and forget? Must everyone forget that jihadists were merely fulfilling the commandments of Islam's war manual: the Qur'an?

What's the danger in telling the truth? We all know that it was the Japanese that bombed Pearl Harbor yet the sushi bars in this country have no problem being patronized. No one, even on the anniversary date of that attack, goes around hitting Japanese on the head. We have learned to live and let live because we were honest with our children.

Hiding the true facts only gives the conspiracy theorists more wood for their fire. "See, even text books don't believe it was Muslims!" Soon I suppose we will be sued by the families of the 19 Muslims for having the WTC in their way, they were only practicing how to fly, and causing their deaths.

For those who are beginning to forget what happened, go on over to the blog Woman Honor Thyself and read Angel's Story.

It is not immoral to remember that it was Muslim terrorists that attacked the WTC. It is immoral to forget that it was Muslim terrorists.

Popular Mechanics, Debunking the 9/11 Myths: Special Report

From the moment the first airplane crashed into the World Trade Center on the morning of September 11, 2001, the world has asked one simple and compelling question: How could it happen?

...

Healthy skepticism, it seems, has curdled into paranoia. Wild conspiracy tales are peddled daily on the Internet, talk radio and in other media. Blurry photos, quotes taken out of context and sketchy eyewitness accounts have inspired a slew of elaborate theories: The Pentagon was struck by a missile; the World Trade Center was razed by demolition-style bombs; Flight 93 was shot down by a mysterious white jet. As outlandish as these claims may sound, they are increasingly accepted abroad and among extremists here in the United States.

To investigate 16 of the most prevalent claims made by conspiracy theorists, POPULAR MECHANICS assembled a team of nine researchers and reporters who, together with PM editors, consulted more than 70 professionals in fields that form the core content of this magazine, including aviation, engineering and the military.

In the end, we were able to debunk each of these assertions with hard evidence and a healthy dose of common sense. We learned that a few theories are based on something as innocent as a reporting error on that chaotic day. Others are the byproducts of cynical imaginations that aim to inject suspicion and animosity into public debate. Only by confronting such poisonous claims with irrefutable facts can we understand what really happened on a day that is forever seared into world history.

TheWe, The Secret Story of the Mossad and the WTC Attack

Former Italian President Francesco Cossiga, who revealed the existence of Operation Gladio, has told Italy’s oldest and most widely read newspaper that the 9-11 terrorist attacks were run by the CIA and Mossad, and that this was common knowledge among global intelligence agencies.

Planck's Constant, The irrelevant and worthless New York Times

The New York Times and other spineless, obsequious, bowing and scraping rags pretended that out of respect for the sensitivities of Muslims they declined to republish the cartoons. It was obvious to anyone that the true reason was fear. Here they are all cowardly for their ignoble fear. The Times’ flippant "especially since the cartoons are so easy to describe in words” is so ludicrous one cannot believe this appeared in the Editorial section of a major paper of record.

Jihad Watch, American Textbook Council: Islam being whitewashed in American school books

An education expert is warning that some American textbooks present a biased view of Islam and offer a sugarcoated picture of Islamic extremism, a trend that has parents worried about what's being taught in public schools.

...

Sewall claims that publishers have been pressured by Islamic activists to portray the religion in the most favorable light, while Islamic terrorism is downplayed or glossed over.

"The picture is incomplete... and the reason for this is that publishers are afraid of the Islamist activists. They don't want trouble," he told FOX News.

Sewall, who authored a report on how textbooks teach and present Islam, singled out one book that he said failed to explain what the story of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

In a section discussing Islamic fundamentalism, the textbook "World History: The Modern World," published by Prentice Hall, omits direct mention of the 9/11 hijackers' religion, referring to the 19 Islamic fundamentalists as "teams of terrorists."

"On the morning of September 11, 2001," the book reads, "teams of terrorists hijacked four airplanes on the East Coast. Passengers challenged the hijackers on one flight, which they crashed on the way to its target. But one plane plunged in to the Pentagon in Virginia, and two others slammed into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York. More than 2,500 people were killed in the attacks."

In his report on the text, Sewall called the passage "dismaying" in its flatness and brevity. "In terms of content, so much is left unanswered. Who were the teams of terrorists and what did they want do to? What were their political ends? Since 'The Modern World' avoids any hint of the connection between this unnamed terrorism and jihad," he wrote, "why September 11 happened is hard to understand."
