Why Muslim Women Say they Like Wearing the Hijab

According to her website, Dr. Homa Darabi's Foundation is a non-profit organization whose goal and objective is to promote the Rights of women and children.
The picture you see here was sent to Dr. Darabi from a woman in Iran, taken 20 days after she was lashed fifty times for being present at a family gathering where men other than her father and brother were present.
Because she is a single woman, it is forbidden for her to be under the same roof with men other than close relatives (father, brother and son) without a proper hijab.
So don't ask why Muslim women want to wear oppressive hijabs on the beach or in hot weather: it is to hide the shame of whip marks.
This is no different than when blacks on antebellum plantations sung joyfully of their gratitude for their masters. "Massa is so good to me. I luvs pickin cotton!" Although they might not always have been sincere, I have no doubt that if blacks were kept in slavery for 1400 years as Muslim women have, they'd be as happy wearing chains as Muslim women are to wear the hijab.
