Why the Olympic Committee Chose Rio over Chicago

A number of readers emailed me suggestions on why the International Olympic Committee chose Rio de Janeiro as the host city for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. It really wasn't that Brazil's president, Luiz InĂ¡cio Lula da Silva, was a better saleman than Obama, it's just that Rio is an easier product to sell.
