The Tallest Building in the World
By Bernie on 06 Jan 2010
The Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, opened a couple of days ago in Dubai. I suppose I should be happy that some Muslims decided to build a skyscraper twice the size of the Empire State Building instead of financing an operation to come to New York to cut it down in size. Some beautiful photos and info can be gotten at the building's website here.
Now today, also in Dubai, the 72 storey, 1092 foot Rose Rayhaan has opened, making it the world's tallest hotel. If you need to book a room you can go here. No, I don't make any commission if you decide to spend a month at the hotel (starting rate is 8,900 United Arab Emirates Dirhams or $2,422.96) but use promotional code ‘LS10' to get a 20% discount. Tell them Bernie at Planck's Constant sent you. That should stir things up.
The photo at the top of the fold may or may not be photoshopped, but it does illustrate a truth. They can spend our oil moneys on skyscrapers, buy the latest laptops and be hooked up the latest in digital technology, but in the end, they are still driving around in donkey carts.
Whatever they appear to be, as long as they are faithful to the commands in the Quran, then mentally they are still living in the seventh century. Their goal is still the same as it was back then: the conversion, subjugation or death of the unbelievers.
