Last Thursday the radical Islamic Web site Revolutionmuslim.com (1) threatened the creators of the TV cartoon series "South Park" after an episode last week depicted an image of the Prophet Mohammed in disguise.
Episode 200 chronicles the efforts of the "South Park" kids to bring Mohammed to their town, only to realize it would be difficult without showing his face or body. In the end he is shown wearing a bear mascot's costume.
So not only is depicting Mohammed in human form a blasphemy punishable by death, but even zoomorphic euphemisms for Mohammed are blasphemy.
The Muslim website warned South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone with violent retribution: "We have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh 2 for airing this show."
They displayed a graphic photo of the mutilated filmmaker in case Trey and Matt needed a reminder and printed the addresses of Comedy Central New York offices and the South Park production company in Los Angeles in case any Muslims wished to send some friendly letters of protest - wink - wink. And if the duo still didn't get the hint, the site had an embedded video of a radical Muslim preacher detailing what happens to anyone who has “defamed” Muhammad which included photos of Parker, Stone, and van Gogh - do we need a wink - wink here?
So I was watching tonight's episode of South Park and was shocked to notice that whenever they mentioned Mohammed's name it got bleeped. That's right - even South Park has been dhimmified.
[Update added 22 Apr 9:12 a.m.]: It should be noted that the show is normally created with the bleeps, they're not added later; however this message now appears at South Park website when you try to click on episode 201:
It is time we stopped allowing Muslims to come into our country. It is time we banned the practice of this faux religion. It is time we acknowledged that Islam is exactly like Nazism and cannot be tolerated in a civilized society.
(1): Revolutionmuslim.com is based in New York and was investigated by CNN last year for its radical rhetoric supporting “jihad” against the West. I tried to load the Revolutionmuslim.com website today but to no avail.
(2): Van Gogh was the Dutch filmmaker shot to death in 2004 after he made a film critical of the treatment of women in Islamic society.
