Where Am I for Muslims
By Bernie on 01 Apr 2010
In my article Muslims Want World to adopt Mecca time I wrote that European and American Muslims have watches that give salat times (Muslim prayer times) and Qibla (direction of Makkah) available to them.
But now, in addition to knowing what direction to pray in, Muslims living anywhere in the world will now know where they are. Google today officially announced its newest Mobile Search feature: Where am I? [see Google's website]
Here's how it works: Simply go to Google search and fill in "Where am I?"
If you are an infidel, the location returned should approximately be where you really are, but because this is an alpha version results may vary slightly and get better with usage; however if you are a Muslim the answer should come back: "In the seventh century A.D."
Almost totally unrelated: If a chicken is not crossing the road, she may not know where she is.
