The View from the 11th Floor of Bay lake Tower
The Magic Kingdom fireworks view from the 11th floor of Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is more spectacular than even at the Magic Kingdom itself. Instead of only seeing a small section of sky from the ground at the park, we see the entire panoramic display from our balcony.
Some advice: When my family goes on vacation there are usually at least 8 of us and sometimes as many as 12 depending on how many nephews and nieces want to join us, so before we became members of Disney's Vacation Club we used to rent as many as three rooms at Walt Disney World hotels. This usually cost us more than a thousand bucks a day and so a two week vacation would set us back more then twelve grand just for the rooms.
Much better than three separate rooms are the villa suites with one king-size bed, full balcony, a second bedroom with 2 queen-size beds, 3 TVs, a living room with two fold out beds, a table and chairs, a refrigerator in the wet bar area, 3 bathrooms, an iron and ironing board, coffeemaker, microwave, stove, and what is really handy for two-week stays: a washer and dryer.
Our villa suite sleeps 9 and would have cost us about $18,000 for two weeks if we actually had to pay for it. Since we go to Disney every two years for two weeks at a time, a much cheaper alternative for us was to buy a Disney timeshare. For a one time payment of fifty grand the villa now only costs about a thousand dollars a year in maintenance fees. We save about $16,000 in room costs every time we come here.
If you go on vacation every year you should seriously consider getting a timeshare. Of course the cost is a lot cheaper if your family outings have fewer members than ours.
