Iranian and Infidel Mine Plowing Machines from Planck's Constant

I usually don't give compliments to assassins and thugs, but I have to say something nice about the Hashshashin from which comes our word "Assassin."

Wikipedia describes them as the Nizari branch of the Ismā'īlī Shia under the instruction of Hassan aṣ-Ṣabbaḥ during the Middle Ages. They were active from the eighth to the fourteenth centuries. This group killed members of the elites of Arab Abbasid, Seljuq and crusaders élite for political and religious reasons. They were feared among the crusaders, the Arabs and the Knights Templar for their power and tactics.

The Hashshashin excelled in what we call targeted assassinations. Their weapon of choice was the knife; they were disdainful of the arrow or poison for fear of collateral damage. But the knife made it close and personal and assured the likelihood that the intended target and only the intended target would be killed.

So ignoring for a moment whether the victim was or was not a tyrant and deserving of death, one has to admire the singleness of purpose of the tyrannicide. The cowardly actions of al Qaeda and like terrorists today who kill innocents would have horrified the Hashshashin.

In this regard I consider land mines the weapons of cowards. All other weapons of war have an off switch. By that I mean that a human being can decide to abort the use of the weapon. Yes, almost all weapons kill unintended victims, noncombatants and even friendlies. But a human conscience is required before pulling the trigger or dropping the bomb. Once a mine is laid, everyone is at risk, even years after a conflict is concluded and there is no one to say, "Whoa there is a child or woman present."

In a like manner, the removal or detection of land mines may be done in one of two ways. The Muslim way and the infidel way.

First the infidel way:

According to British Army Website:

The Trojan can operate in extreme weather condition, either hot or cold, and in hazardous environments, yet the crew remain safe and comfortable because of the advanced air filtration and climate control system.

Trojan's high speed cross country mobility, its technologically advanced vehicle control systems and its enhanced remote CCTV camera systems keep it operating at peak performance whether bounding between cover in the urban environment or advancing towards the enemy in open countryside. With its enormously capable excavator arm, mine plough and dozer blade, it is easy to move around the battle field to perform complex obstacle clearance tasks without the crew having to leave the protection of the Tank.

It will be noted that one of the main features of the Trojan is not only the safety of the soldiers but their comfort as well.

Now the Muslim way:

In this photo we see Iranian children in what is obviously a manufacturing facility for future mine detectors.

I am told by western military experts that

these children are the same age as children used during the Iran-Iraq war to clear minefields. The children were given plastic keys, Passports to Paradise, so that they wouldn't have to wait at customs checkpoints but could go directly to Heaven for their sacrifice.

These children can operate in extreme weather condition, either hot or cold, and in hazardous environments, yet Iranian officers remain safe and comfortable because of the advanced air filtration and climate control system in their vehicles far from the fields.

It is easy to move these kids around the battle field to perform complex obstacle clearance tasks without any Iranian officers or soldiers having to leave the protection of their vehicles.

Here too, It will be noted that one of the main features of the children is not only the safety of the soldiers but their comfort as well.

So perhaps there is no difference between Muslim and Infidel mine clearing equipment.
