Iranian Video Says Mahdi is `Near`
It used to be that the New York Times, the BBC and other major news organizations actually went out boldly investigating events in the world. But no longer. A few years ago when the Danish Cartoon Affair broke, no major news outlet had the testicles to reprint the cartoons out of fear of offending Muslims - only a handful of small American papers reprinted the Mohammed caricatures.
Today we have to rely on bloggers and media organizations such as The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) to ferret out the real news the Mainstream media is too afraid to pursue.
Take for example, this report that informs us that nuclear annihilation is no threat to Iran, that they would welcome such a catastrophe as proof that the Twelfth Imam or Mahdi is about to arrive, the messianic final successor to Mohammed who Islamic scriptures say will lead the armies of Islam to vanquish all infidels in the end of times.
So when you hear a leftist idiot downplaying the threat of a nuclear Iran because he believes that MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction) would deter Iran's deployment of such weapons, remind him what Bernard Lewis wrote about Muslims:
... mutual assured destruction, the deterrent that worked so well during the Cold War, would have no meaning. At the end of time, there will be general destruction anyway. What will matter will be the final destination of the dead--hell for the infidels, and heaven for the believers. For people with this mindset, MAD is not a constraint; it is an inducement.
