How American Are You?
If you read my post from 2007 I`m from New Jersey - gotta problem wit dat?, you will discover that I am 78% New Jersey. I was given this result after taking a short online quiz. I actually feel that I'm about 40% New Jersey, 45% New York, and about 15% Nevada. I'm not sure what that exactly means, but that's how I feel.
In going over some of my older, unpublished posts I came across this test: How American Are You? and got the following answer:
| You Are 84% American |
![]() Tough and independent, you think big. You love everything about the US, wrong or right. And anyone who criticizes your home better not do it in front of you! |
Ignoring for a moment that this is just a silly test with no relation as to one's Americanishness, you may think that I'd be insulted at getting only an 84% rating, that I would want to be called 100% American. But to tell you the truth, I think being 16% off the mark is a good thing. Too many Americans are too tolerant of too much evil.
There were many Americans who did not want us to fight Germany in WWI. Later, of course, we learned that Germany had plans to invade the US.
There were many Americans who did not want us to fight Germany in WWII. Anyone with 2 cents worth of grey matter knew that Germany had plans to invade the US.
Imagine F.D.R. declaring in December of 1941, after Pearl harbor, that we are not at war with the Japanese, but only with those few extremists who have hijacked the Japanese culture.
Well, this is what we have today with our last two Presidents: after the attacks on 9-11 we heard silly but dangerous sentiments such as, "We are not at War with Muslims, but only with those few extremists who have hijacked their religion." Bush and Obama would not have uttered such nonsense if there were less than a hundred million Muslims on the planet. Because there are more than a billion of these buggers all over the world, fear and cowardice prevents our leaders from telling us the truth, that we are indeed at war with Islam.
