Gold hit $1703.40 this morning making those who hold gold a little richer this morning. I am assuming that the rich possess more gold than the poor and hence the title.
On 4 June 2008 gold fixed at $883.50 an ounce. For those readers who may not know, on that day I wrote that I was going to vote in the 2008 election for a Democrat for the first time in my life because I believed that Obama was such an incompetent idiot regarding our economy that he'd help push the price of gold to its highest levels ever and make me rich. If only the Tea Party had not interfered and allowed the debt ceiling to rise without any curbs on spending, the price of gold today would be even higher. I implore all those who love freedom and Capitalism to give Obama free rein to govern as he chooses. Most Americans have no clue what Socialism really is. I say let them have a full cup of it. Then when all is in chaos and ruin, they will know what the rest of us know, that Socialism is a failed system that does not raise the poor to the level of the rich, but lowers the rich to the level of the poor.
My father told me of a favorite joke in the old Soviet Union:
Q: Why will there be no stealing when Communism replaces Socialism?
A: Because the Socialists already stole everything there was to steal.
When Obama is finished stealing from the rich and "redistributing" to the poor, gold should be $5,000 an ounce. That is, if he gets re-elected. For those who own gold, let's hope he does.
