Verizon Union - Fraudsters and Extortionists

People in a large crowd wave signs and shout as labor unions and supporters, turned out in the rain outside New Jersey’s Statehouse in Trenton, N.J., Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at a unity rally in support of Wisconsin workers locked in a battle over collective bargaining rights.

For about ten years (between 1994 and 2003) I tested and installed over a thousand T1 lines (1) for my prepaid phonecard business. That works out to more than 24,000 voice phone lines.

During that time I have observed that members of the Communication Workers of America have an interesting scam working for their benefit and to the detriment of the rest of us.

It's the 3 Man rule. This is how it works: a business orders a T1 line. Forty-five days later three phone company workers show up to install the line although only one is really needed.

It will not be installed properly by the first man.

The second man is shown what not to fix so when you call to complain and he shows up, he knows what not to touch lest it be accidentally fixed.

The third man is shown what to fix so it will finally get fixed on the third service call.

This featherbedding technique forces Verizon to employ three times as many workers than it actually needs. This is but one method union members use to insure over-employment of their fellow workers.

Three weeks ago I finally moved my last land line to Google Voice. I pay no monthly bill, no line charges, no line taxes, no nothing. The same phone number my family has used for 52 years now connects to my cell phone.

It is my small contribution to making sure that not one more penny of mine goes to any union fraudster and extortionist.

If I have a choice of buying a product or service made by a union or non-union company I will always choose the non-union company. That is why I will never buy a GM, Ford, or Chrysler car.

In the photo above CWA union members last February decided to attend an anti-Christie rally instead of going to work. Who did that hurt?

Gateway Pundit, Dialysis Can Wait… Union Workers Leave Sick & Elderly Patients Stranded So They Can Attend Rally

174 elderly patients, including dialysis patients, were left stranded without a ride to their doctor’s appointments in New Jersey last week. CWA union members decided to attend an anti-Christie rally instead of going to work.

This is the contempt that union members have for the general population.

Unions are one of the reasons we have the worst roads, the worst infrastructure, the worst cars, the worst products, and the worst service in the world. I cannot wait for the day that we rid this nation of unions altogether.

(1):

HowStuffWorks, How does a T1 line work?

If your office has a T1 line, it means that the phone company has brought a fiber optic line into your office (a T1 line might also come in on copper). A T1 line can carry 24 digitized voice channels, or it can carry data at a rate of 1.544 megabits per second. If the T1 line is being used for telephone conversations, it plugs into the office's phone system. If it is carrying data it plugs into the network's router.
