Buy a Condom Save Africa
Some poor families in our country are poor simply because they have more children than they can afford to feed or properly take care of. In a like manner, the main problem with Africa is that there are too many Africans.
If Africa had our system of government, our economic system, our culture, our way of life, our technology then there would be no problem with the present number of Africans. But they do not.
The sending of shoes, eyeglasses, food and other items to Africa has killed millions of local African enterprises and resulted in abject dependence on even more aid. But there is one exception: condoms. Condoms are the only products that actually address the long term needs of Africa. Sending food and medicine only takes care of immediate needs but does nothing to solve long term problems; in fact such aid only makes Africa worse.
As I explained in my article Black Stereotypes and Best Condom Commercial Ever, if we truly have compassion in our heart for the plight of Africans, then we should be sending condoms to Africa instead of food, medicine, or money.
The plaid, 1971 Volkswagen "condom bus" in the photo above belongs to Sir Richard's, a socially responsible condom company. This fall the bus will be visiting college campuses around the West Coast, spreading the company's message that "safe sex is a basic human right."
Every time one buys a Sir Richard's condom, the company sends one to community organizations in the third world. Hopefully, some of those condoms will end up in Africa.
So go out, have some safe sex and make Africa a better place.
Disclaimer: I make no money from the mention of Sir Richard's products.
