We arrived in the Bahamas on 11 August 2012, see my article We Are in Atlantis at Harborside Resort. After 15 days of perfect weather, sun, sea, snorkeling, and swimming with dolphins we were ready to head home on Saturday the 25th.

The nine of us packed ourselves and 20-plus pieces of luggage into a taxi and made the 40 minute trip to the airport where we were told that our flight on United Airlines was cancelled due to heavy winds. This was the first time in my life that I've had a flight cancellation.

So we re-loaded ourselves and 20-plus pieces of luggage into the taxi and headed back to Atlantis and rebooked for an extra five days stay.

Our next flight out won't be until Wednesday so we are "stuck" in the Bahamas (making this a 20 day vacation), although most people wouldn't mind being "stuck" on Paradise Island for 5 days.

The weather has been a bit rainy but there are still many indoor activities to engage in, however my personal preference would have been to leave after 7 days at the most. I'm not a sun/beach/sand sort of guy.
