The Difference Between Jewish and Muslim Immigrants

In response to my article Suspend Muslim Immigration, Muslim Military service, and Building of Mosques, Nadya, a reader from Indonesia, asked me in an email: "How would you like it if America banned Jews from coming to America?"
Rather than responding back by email, let me explain to you, Nadya, my clueless, deluded Muslim woman, why it would be wrong to ban Jews from coming to America (and why it would be right to ban Muslims):
- Without Jews, America would have had 115 fewer Nobel Laureates (or 36% fewer). Without Muslims, America would have had only 1 less Nobel Laureate.
- Without Jews, there would have been 40% fewer scientists in the membership of the divisions of physics and applied physical sciences of the US National Academy of Sciences (see my article what are Jews Good For in Science and Discovery?). Without Muslims, scientific life would go on the same.
- Without Jews, America would have had 50% fewer songs, musicals, plays, films, and entertainment (see my article What Are Jews Good For?). Without Muslims - we would still have the same music, films, and entertainment.
- Without Jews, not just America, but the world would be suffering even more from Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Heart Disease, Headaches, Typhus, Diabetes, Mental Disorders, Polio, Convulsions and Tuberculosis and a thousand other diseases cured or made more manageable by the medical beneficence of the Jews (see my article Avoiding Jewish Products May Kill You). As for Muslims, the followers of Islam have done nothing in medicine for the past 800 years.
- The largest ethnic group in New York City is Jews, and yet with millions of Jews, pork has not been banned in the city's schools, museums are not afraid to even display anti-Jewish art (1) without fear of being fire-bombed by Jewish extremists, Jewish cabbies do not refuse to pick up non-Kosher fares, Jews do not apply for jobs that conflict with their religion and then make unreasonable demands.
- Without Jews there would be no Google, no Barbie doll, no Polaroid camera, no Starbucks, no Facebook, no bluejeans, no hundreds of thousands of businesses that have made America the greatest economic powerhouse in the universe. Without Muslims, what have we missed?
- Without Jews we would not have Spider-Man, the Hulk, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, and many other fictional characters. Comic book characters created by Muslims? Well, there are the 99, but those superheroes are based on Islamic culture and society, not on American culture and society. Of course the greatest fictional character created by Muslims is a Holy Man called Mohammed loosely based on the life of a real savage, brutal, neck-slicing, child-molesting, caravan-raiding, Jew-murdering thug.
I could give many, many more examples of how Jews have made tens of thousands of valuable contributions to America without asking Americans to change their way of life.
There are many non-Muslim immigrant groups who have also contributed greatly to America. Immigrants who accept the American way of life, who assimilate, who integrate, who learn our language, who revel in the joy of being an American, those immigrants should be warmly welcomed to our shores. Muslims (and anyone else) who believe their way of life is superior, who want to change our culture, who demand to be ruled under Sharia law (2), who refuse to assimilate, those groups should not be allowed into this country.
Judaism is actually a part of our Judeo-Christian way of life here in America. Islam, on the other hand, is incompatible with a free society. It would be a mistake to ban Jews, and the safe thing to ban Muslims - that is the difference between Jewish and Muslim Immigrants.

NY Times, Preserving Artifacts of Anti-Semitism
Peter Ehrenthal, a Judaica dealer in Manhattan, has assembled about 600 anti-Semitic artifacts ranging from somewhat jokey to appalling. On Jan. 5 a third of his collection will go on view at the Wolfson Museum of Jewish Art in Jerusalem in a yearlong show, “The Eternal Jew: Objects of Hatred From the Peter Ehrenthal Collection.”
Mr. Ehrenthal, 91, who runs Moriah Galleries on Fifth Avenue, is a Jewish dentist’s son from Romania who lost much of his family during the Holocaust. He said he spent tens of thousands of dollars for some anti-Semitic works. Although he concentrates on pre-World War II material, some items in his collection date to the 15th century. Nineteenth-century peddler statuettes are mildly unflattering, while the posters with graphic accusations of theft and murder can be sickening.

In the collection’s Americana contingent, a matchbook promotes lakefront “restricted camps” that excluded Jews. A Life magazine illustration by the cartoonist Harrison Cady shows tiny Jews tying up a Gulliver representing New York society, with ribbons labeled “real estate,” “jewelry” and “haberdashery.”
Peter Ehrenthal and his son Michael, a co-owner of the gallery, have not decided what to do with the collection after the Israel exhibition, but hope to find a museum willing to keep it together. They have a few objects on view at the gallery: a German tankard depicts soldiers banishing Jews to Palestine, and in a bronze relief a Jew begs for mercy at a customs post.
During previews at the Wolfson Museum, older visitors have come away shaken, said the curator, Nurit Sirkis Bank. “They are offended, they have tears in their eyes,” she said. “But they say it is so important to exhibit this material.”

And now a New Jersey judge sees no evidence that a Muslim committed sexual assault of his wife -- not because he didn't do it, but because he was acting on his Islamic beliefs: "This court does not feel that, under the circumstances, that this defendant had a criminal desire to or intent to sexually assault or to sexually contact the plaintiff when he did. The court believes that he was operating under his belief that it is, as the husband, his desire to have sex when and whether he wanted to, was something that was consistent with his practices and it was something that was not prohibited."
