In my article Do Muslims Believe in Jesus? I quickly answered "No!" And yeah, yeah, I know - there is a prophet with that name mentioned in the Qur'an; but he certainly is not the Christ of the Gospels.

Muslims will lie to infidels that they venerate Jesus. What they won't tell you is that they're not talking about the Christian version of Jesus - for Muslims there was no manger, the crucifixion was an illusion, and their Jesus is just another prophet, one among more than a 124,000 other prophets said to be recognized by Islam. As proof, consider the following outrageous story from 2010 of how one Muslim demanded that the phrase, "In the Year of Our Lord" be taken off his diploma:

A group of Muslim students at Trinity University in Texas are arguing their diplomas should have the words “our Lord” dropped to reflect the “diversity” of college life.

“A diploma is a very personal item, and people want to proudly display it in their offices and homes,” said Sidra Qureshi, a Muslim student and president of Trinity Diversity Connection, who is leading the charge to tweak the wording.

“By having the phrase In the Year of Our Lord,’ it is directly referencing Jesus Christ, and not everyone believes in Jesus Christ.”

Read that last sentence to your Muslim friends who insist that Muslims believe in Jesus. I suppose next, since Muslims do not believe in a triune God, that the next demand will be to drop Trinity from diplomas as well as from the entrance to the university. After all, not everyone believes in the Trinity.

The word arrogance does not cover it: here we have a small, teensy minority in a centuries-old Christian institution and they have the nerve to demand that accommodations be made so as not to offend their feelings.
