100 Million Muslim Militants Support Attacks Against the US
A few years ago I read a blog article in which the author made a small mathematical mistake by a factor of ten in computing the number of potential radical Islamic terrorists:

I feel so comforted and safe after reading a major worldwide survey [1] challenging Westerner perceptions of Islam as being a religion of hatred, violence and radicalism. The survey shows that an overwhelming majority of Muslims condemned the attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001 and other subsequent terrorist attacks. According to the Gallup poll, 93 percent of the world's 1.3 billion Muslims are moderates and only seven percent are politically radical. Let's see... 7% of 1.3 billion equals... a mere nine million one hundred thousand radical Islamic potential terrorists to worry about. Wow, I know I will be sleeping much better tonight knowing how peaceable Islam is.
7% of 1.3 billion is actually 91 million, not 9.1 million. At present population numbers of 1.5 billion Muslims, if the 7% figure is still true, it means that today there are more than 100 million Muslim radicals who condone attacks against the United States. The reason that we do not have more attacks inside our country is that 99% of those buggers do not live here. Yet.

Notwithstanding that huge number of violence-condoning Islamists, what is most significant in the Gallup poll is this interesting tidbit: "Muslims want self-determination, but not an American-imposed and -defined democracy. They don't want secularism or theocracy. What the majority wants is democracy with religious values..."
Let me explain what "democracy with religious values" means to Muslims. It means laws based on the Shariah. It means a way of life based on Islamic values. It means a culture that is subservient to Muslim demands. We see "democracy with religious values" in action in Egypt, Libya, and Syria where Muslims torture, mutilate and murder Christians the moment they are free of secular controls.
So when you hear someone blithely assert that there is little to fear from Muslims because only a tiny minority are extremists, tell them that a world filled with 100 million Islamic radicals is the most dangerous threat the world has ever faced.
A few hundred thousand moderate Muslims toppled decades-old regimes in Egypt and Libya. Imagine what tens of millions of raging, devout, murderous extremists can do.
