Islamophobia is Not a Prejudice
Prejudice is forming an opinion about a person or group before having any facts of the matter. I believe that decades ago most Americans had no opinion about Muslims one way or the other. In fact, even today, even after 9/11, despite Muslim assertions that most Americans are Islamophobic, only 25% of Americans hold negative opinions of Muslims (1).
I believe that low percentage is due to most Americans being clueless about Islam. For example, here are the past 30 days of typical Muslim behavior which I have no doubt 99.99% of Americans are completely unaware of:

What we have above is 30 days of Muslim atrocities. Now consider this: there have been more than half a million days since Mohammed cut off 800 heads of the Banu Qurayza Jews. Can you imagine the length of the list of Muslim barbarities since then? My Islamophobia is not due to pre-judging Muslims, but rather to post-judging Muslims.

Ten years after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, one in three Americans think Muslim Americans are more sympathetic to terrorists than other Americans, a new CBS News/ New York Times poll shows.
Nearly 60 percent of Americans do not think Muslim Americans are more sympathetic to terrorists, according to the poll, conducted in late August. Residents of New York City polled have similar opinions.
A quarter of Americans, as well as 20 percent of New Yorkers, admit they hold negative opinions of Muslims because of 9/11. Among adults who say a close friend or family member was killed on 9/11, 25 percent also say they have negative feelings toward Muslims.
