How to get from Jerusalem, Israel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia by car.

Just because something is on the Internet does not mean it has any correspondence with reality. Take for example these driving directions from Jerusalem, Israel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, found on a popular mapping website; click on photo above to open a detailed map of the route.

Suppose some ignorant Israeli, let's call him Noam (one of the most popular male names in Israel), saw these driving directions and said to himself, "Wow, I'd like to go see Mecca," and set off on the 1317 mile journey. Let me add that this poor fellow also believes Islam is a religion because he saw that too mentioned on the Internet.

The only difference in his two mistaken beliefs is that someone at one of the border crossings, after they finally stop rolling on the floor laughing, will quickly disabuse Noam of the former ridiculous notion. Convincing him of his error will be relatively easy since he only had that absurd idea in head for a short time. Convincing him that Islam is a not religion will take longer but only if he has an open mind.
