When Quoting Thomas Jefferson Will Be Illegal
I wonder how many Americans, other than those who watch Fox News, have any idea how difficult it is to criticize Islam in other western nations. If any visitor of my blog missed it, a leader of the Liberty GB party in the UK was arrested and faces jail time for quoting Winston Churchill (1). Here is what the savvy Churchill figured out about that hateful cult:
Goodreads , Quote by Winston S. Churchill
“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.
Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytising faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science - the science against which it had vainly struggled - the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.”
But we don't have to worry about getting arrested for hate speech in America, right? Wrong - we have to worry big time if a Democrat Senator (2) gets his way, it's only a matter of time before it will be a crime to utter hateful remarks through the use of our phones or the Internet.
To disagree with Obama is already called racist and hateful (3) - So one day we may see some poor shlub arrested because he had objected to being forced under Obamacare to pay for procedures that conflict with his religious beliefs and had the audacity of hope to quote Thomas Jefferson: "To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical."
If liberals continue to destroy this country it will become necessary for patriots to liberally deal with tyrants.

The New American, Hate Speech: U.K. Political Leader Arrested for Quoting Winston Churchill
A 2009 poll found that more than a third of British teenagers couldn’t identify some of Winston Churchill’s most famous words. Now it turns out that this deficit just might save them from jail.
In a shocking application of hate-speech law, Paul Weston (shown), co-founder and leader of the Liberty GB party and candidate for member of the European Parliament, was arrested on Saturday and now faces a possible two years in prison. His crime?
He quoted one of the 20th century’s most famous Englishmen, that WWII hero Churchill.

Examiner.com, 29 aPR 2014, Goodbye free speech: Mass. Dem. wants government to monitor speech for 'hate'
It seems that some lawmakers now want to monitor and control speech. If Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., has his way, the federal government will monitor radio, television and Internet speech for "hate," or material allegedly determined to be advocating or encouraging “violent acts," WND reported Monday.
Markey's proposal, called the “Hate Crime Reporting Act of 2014,” [PDF] would require the National Telecommunications and Information Administration to submit a report to Congress on “the use of telecommunications” “to advocate and encourage violent acts and the commission of crimes of hate.” The bill does not specify what, exactly, constitutes "hate," but given the source of the proposal, it's not too difficult to figure out.

Townhall.com, 30 Sep 2009, Is Disagreement with Obama Racism?
Former president Jimmy Carter said, "I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man." That's from a man who earlier referred to Obama as "This black boy" on the Jim Lehrer "News Hour." New York Times social critic Maureen Dowd said, in reference to Rep. Joe Wilson's shouting "Liar" during Obama's address on health care before the joint session of Congress, "Some people just can't believe a black man is president and will never accept it." Washington Post's Howard Kurtz said he "began to suspect that race was a factor for at least some critics when I heard them shouting about 'the Constitution' and 'taking our country back.'" Kurtz asked whether the massive tea parties and other public protests reflect a "distinct discomfort with the country's first black president." House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel, Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson, New York Gov. David Paterson, MSNBC's Chris Matthews, and other leftists claim that racism is behind criticism of President Obama.
