I am neither a Mets nor a Phillies fan, but I can't miss a day going out with my two sons without their wives. Let me explain: there are twelve of us living in our home: my wife and I; my older son with his wife and newborn son and two daughters; my younger son with his wife and son and daughter; and my nephew.

All of us go on vacation together - Disney World every other year, Mexico, Bahamas, Bermuda, ocean cruises, every other year. Every year my wife and I go to Las Vegas for a long weekend and sometimes the rest of the adults in the family come with us, leaving the kids with someone else.

Even though my two sons live in the same household, they do not have the same interaction between themselves when they are at home as they do when at the ballgame. There are too many interruptions at home and when they come home from work, each son tends to spend more time with his own wife and kids.

My VIP host at Bally's Atlantic City Hotel and Casino comps me three tickets every year to luxury suites at Citi Field which lets my two boys relax as waitresses serve them complimentary food and drinks while they watch the game. Once in a while they'll both go into the lounge area (big screen TVs to continue watching the game) to discuss the pros and cons of various competing mobile phone systems, video games, marketing strategies of Internet giants, or any other topic.

We have taken public transportation before to Citi Field but it is not as inducive to conversation as being in a car so I like to drive while my boys engage in verbal swordplay.

My older son (never went to college) runs a multi-million dollar Smartphone repair business that he started almost two years ago.

My younger son (never went to college) manages the entire network for a very large Internet company.

If you're wondering why I mention that my two boys never once attended college, please read The 13 Most Important Traits of an Ideal Employee, where going to college is not one of those traits.

But I digress.

My VIP host also had a few tickets for seats behind the Phillies' dugout, but we only stayed for half an inning, it was too hot.

We had good and bad luck that day. Weather forecasters warned about showers for that afternoon and we lucked out - no showers during the game, however as we walked back to our car, it started to pour with a vengeance which made getting out of the parking lot an almost one hour affair. Getting to the game from Bayonne, New Jersey took about one hour - getting home took two hours. It's a good thing my boys had something to talk about going and coming back.
