The Difference Between Germany 1940 and Israel 2014

Whenever Hamas runs low on dead babies to parade to the world, they start lobbing missiles into Israel. There is never any tactical purpose, they certainly aren't supporting any immediate military operation such as halting an Israeli invasion, nor is there any strategic purpose since they don't care where the missiles fall, even on their own civilians, so there are no long-term military gains to be accomplished. The only purpose is to generate dead-baby propaganda.

Along with the many photos of bloodied and mangled bodies of children, there is always a flurry of new anti-Israeli blog articles whose authors dredge up trite and previously published propaganda images comparing Israel to Nazi Germany.

I am not the type of blogger to summarily dismiss these images by invoking Godwin's Law as an excuse to curtail discussion. Let's talk about one such photographic comparison one can find on numerous anti-Israeli blogs: a concentration camp fence in 1940s Germany and a supposed concentration camp fence in modern Israel:

The Difference Between Germany 1940 and Israel 2014

I don't mind pointing out to these websites that there are two kinds of fences in the world: those made to keep people in and those made to keep people out.

In Nazi Germany's case, the fences and walls they built were not meant as protection against invading Jewish hordes bent on annihilating Germans - they were obviously meant to keep inmates from escaping.

In Israel's case, the fences and walls they built were not meant to keep inmates from escaping, they were obviously meant to protect Israel from invading Palestinian hordes bent on annihilating Jews.

See the difference, Ahmed? Look at this fence:

Was it built to imprison the home-owner or was it built to keep other people out? If you can't tell the difference, you shouldn't be blogging.
