How to Avoid a Police Chokehold

After a Staten Island grand jury decided correctly not to indict a police officer in the death of Eric Garner, the idiot Mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio, told reporters that he had worries about whether his biracial teenage son is safe from police.

Let me assure the Mayor that he doesn't need to worry about his biracial teenage son being safe from police - he need only teach his son what I teach my children regarding any encounter with the police: "Whatever the officer asks you to do - do it. You can always sue later if the officer issued an unlawful order."

If he asks you to put your hands behind your back - do it - even though you have done absolutely, positively, indisputably nothing wrong.

If he asks you to get out of your car - do it - even though you have not absolutely, positively, indisputably violated any single traffic law.

If he asks you to stand on one leg and recite the alphabet backwards - do it - even though you have absolutely, positively, indisputably not imbibed any alcoholic beverage or partaken of an illicit drug.

And if you can muster a sincere "Yes, Officer," while you are complying with the officer's command, then offer the sentiment as respectfully as you can.

Have your son follow this advice, Mr. Mayor, and you will never have to worry that your son, biracial or not, is safe from the wrong end of a police choke-hold or a police bullet.
